Rescued woman arrested for arson

A 32-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire at a flat on Thursday.

Firefighters led the woman to safety from the two-storey property at Laburnum Grove, Didcot, Oxfordshire, just after 0200 GMT.

Nearby flats were evacuated as a precaution.

The woman was given medical treatment for the effects of breathing in smoke.

She was later released on police bail until Monday.

An investigation is under way into how the fire started.
