Two men robbed a disabled woman at knifepoint while she was in her electric buggy and then pulled a medication tube out of her stomach.
Denise Cunningham, 42, was in an alley between Max Road and Rupert Road in Chaddesden, Derby, when she was attacked by the men.
One held her round the throat while the second threatened her with a knife.
The robbers stole her mobile phone, but also ripped out the tube used to administer medication.
Distinctive tattoo
Ms Cunningham, who has asthma, managed to make her way home but was later taken to the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary suffering from breathing difficulties.
She has now been allowed home.
She said: "It makes you wonder whether to you should pity them.
"To think they could do something like this to another human being or just be really angry and hateful."
One of the attackers had a distinctive star tattoo on his cheek and wore a dark hat and was around 5ft 9ins.
The other was 6 feet tall with short dark hair and described as 'scruffy'.
