Hunt for car-jackers
Lancashire Police HQ sign
Detectives appeal for witnesses
Police are hunting car-jackers who threatened a driver before stealing his car.

The pair, who were wearing balaclavas, approached the 31-year-old victim as he was leaving the Lancashire Health and Racquet Club on Heywood Old Road in Middleton.

Armed with a crowbar and a machete, they threatened the man before demanding he hand over his car keys.

They then drove off in the man's black Honda Civic Type R followed by a third man - believed to be an accomplice - in a silver or gold coloured Nissan X-Trail 4x4.

The Honda Civic was found abandoned 15 minutes later near a housing estate in Prestwich.

Property belonging to the victim was discovered nearby.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to the incident.

They are being urged to ring Middleton CID on 0161 856 8754 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
