Death threat wife avoids jail
A 45-year-old woman who made a death threat to her husband after he left her for another woman has avoided a jail sentence.

Worcester Crown Court had heard how Lorraine West, of Ripon Road, Worcester, left a telephone message saying she was going to "blow up" her husband Mark.

The jury had been told how Mr West left his wife for his girlfriend, Mandy Bridgewater, after 14 years of marriage.

West, who was convicted in September of making a threat to kill her husband, was sentenced on Thursday to a two-year community rehabilitation order.

Judge Michael Mott told the court she had been found guilty on the overwhelming evidence of the telephone message and said it was a pity she had not admitted the offence.

He said the case had arisen out of emotional turmoil and he recommended the 45-year-old should take an anger management course.

West had earlier been cleared of making a threat to kill Miss Bridgewater and of assaulting her husband.
