Woman dies in road crash

A woman has died and a man has been seriously injured in a road accident in Oxfordshire.

A Mercedes van was travelling towards Huntercombe, Henley, on the A4130 and a Mercedes car travelling towards Crowmarsh, when they collided at about 1430 GMT, according to police.

The female driver of the van was killed and the male car driver was airlifted to the Royal Berkshire Hospital with serious head injuries.

The road was closed at both ends while accident investigators examined the crash scene.

The reason for the accident is not known and police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them.
