Presenter Malcolm Billings
Malcolm Billings visits a city with an uncertain future

Malcolm Billings, who presents Crossing Continents from the slopes of Mount Vesuvius, is the BBC's most experienced archaeological broadcaster.

He has made programmes in Asia, Africa, Australia, the Americas and Europe.

He is a former presenter of BBC Radio 4's Today programme, and has also presented BBC Radio 4's Origins series, and the documentary The Masada Myth.

He also fronts Heritage on the BBC World Service.

Malcolm Billings is also a prolific author. His books include: The Cross and The Crescent; The Crusades; History of the English; The History and Archaeology of London, and a History of Queen's College, London.
