Concern grows for missing man
Police believe a 55-year-old man who went missing on a freezing night may have been involved in a road accident.

Marcus Corr was last seen by his wife at his home in Purtington, near Crewkerne, Somerset, on Wednesday evening.

His green Land Rover Discovery vehicle was later discovered overturned on the side of the A30 near Crewkerne at about 0130 GMT on Thursday.

When police arrived Mr Corr was not with his vehicle or in the immediate area.

A spokesman said: "There was a small amount of blood in the car which led officers to believe Mr Corr has suffered some injuries."

Inspector Pete Saban, of Avon and Somerset Police, said: "We would urgently like to speak to anyone who was in the area, particularly if they were driving along the A30 between around midnight and 6am on Thursday and saw either the collision or a man walking about."

Mr Corr is described as white, 5 ft 10 in, with grey wavy hair and was last seen wearing a shirt and tie, corduroy trousers and a green wax jacket.

"There is increasing concern for his safety given that we believe he has suffered some injury and it was an extremely cold night last night," said Inspector Saban.
