Amy theory to bones find
Amy Anderson
Miss Anderson's torso was found last year
Police have been investigating the possibility that human remains found in woodland may be those of Amy Anderson.

The 19-year-old's torso was found on the banks of the River Leven in May last year.

Strathclyde Police confirmed that a passer-by discovered the limbs in woodland at Dennystoun Forge, near the River Leven in Dumbarton, on Wednesday.

Officers sealed off the area in order to carry out forensic tests and a post-mortem is due to be carried out.

A police spokesman said: "We cannot rule out that the remains could be that of Amy Anderson.

"However, only forensic tests can prove this."

Miss Anderson was a drug addict who had been sleeping rough for several months before her death.

Her young daughter is being cared for by her parents.

Two men have been charged in connection with the case.
