Reservists head for Iraq
About 50 army reservists from across the West Midlands are on their way to Iraq.

The Territorial Army (TA) soldiers have been called up for a six-month period, serving in the south of the country.

The West Midlands Regiment troops will be posted to a field hospital, where their tasks will include guard duties and protecting the ambulances and medical teams.

The men and women from the regiment are based in Shrewsbury, Birmingham, Kidderminster, Burton-on-Trent, Stoke-on-Trent and Hereford.

They have received intensive training over the last three weeks to prepare them for the difficulties they face in Iraq.

About 3,000 TA soldiers are already deployed there.
