Man hurt in bus collision

A man has been seriously hurt in a collision with a bus in Filton, near Bristol.

The 30-year-old, who has not been named, was hit by the bus in Filton Avenue at 1830 GMT on Wednesday.

It is believed he was thrown some distance by the force of the collision, which happened near the junction with Station Road.

He was taken to hospital with what police describe as "very serious injuries".

The road was closed for a number of hours while officers investigated the cause of the crash.
