Man arrested in fireworks haul
A man has been arrested after a policeman spotted him allegedly selling illegal fireworks from the back of his car.

The man, from Downend in Bristol, was seen hawking the potentially dangerous devices from the boot of his vehicle in Warwick Road, Easton at 1330 GMT on Tuesday.

When the car was searched, officers found more than 180 rockets inside.

Further searches of the man's house and garage uncovered more than £5,000 worth of fireworks, many of which were designed for large-scale public displays.

The man was questioned at Trinity Road police station before being released.

The inquiry is part of Operation Hercules, a joint investigation between trading standards officers, the police and the fire service, designed to cut down on the illegal trade in fireworks.
