Neighbour helped shooting victim
A man shot on his doorstep by two gunmen was left bleeding "like a sieve", a court has heard.

A neighbour has told a jury how he rushed to help after the shooting in May last year.

The victim, who cannot be named, was allegedly shot at his home in the Northfields area of Leicester.

Despite suffering puncture wounds to his chest, lung, liver and neck, he survived after the pellets passed straight through his body.

Charges denied

Giving evidence to Leicester Crown Court, the neighbour - who also cannot be identified - told how he fought to save the 38-year-old after finding him lying on the ground.

He said he used first a towel and then squashed-up pieces of toilet roll to stem the flow of blood, which was "pouring out of the holes in his body".

Donovan Reid, 32, of Highfields, Leicester, and Devon Bryan, 30, of no fixed address but from the London area, deny attempted murder.

The trial continues.
