Mugger steals £800 from woman
A bag containing £800 has been stolen from a woman in Bedfordshire.

The woman was walking in Chauntry Way, Flitwick, at about 1730 BST on Monday when she was approached by a man who grabbed the bag.

He used so much force her fingers were cut.

Bedfordshire Police think the robber and an accomplice escaped in a G-registered saloon.

Two hours later a blue Nissan Sunny was found burnt out in Steppingley Road in the town and this is being linked to the robbery.

Offenders watching woman

Both robbers were black. One was aged 18 to 25, about 5 ft 9 in to 6 ft tall, slim and wore a dark jacket and dark trousers. The second was in his late teens.

Detective Constable Stuart Kilham is anxious to speak to anyone who saw the car pulling away from Chauntry Way with its lights off and being driven around Flitwick.

He said: "It's possible the offenders had been watching this woman from some time before making their move.

"If anyone saw something suspicious, or remembers seeing a dark coloured car in that road with two men inside, we want to hear from them."

Anyone with information is asked to call DC Kilham on 01582 473326 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
