Mother and baby knocked over

Police said the circumstances of the collision were unclear
Police are seeking two or three men after a mother and her 18-month-old baby were knocked over by a car on a main road in Cardiff.

The incident happened just before noon on Tuesday on the A48 Western Avenue at its junction with Waungron Road in the Fairwater area of the city.

South Wales Police said it is believed the men abandoned the vehicle and ran off in the direction of Fairwater.

The baby, who was in a pram, suffered slight bruising to the forehead a head injury.

The mother suffered a leg injury, which is not thought to be serious.

Both were taken to the University Hospital of Wales for treatment.

A police spokesman said: "They (the men) are believed to have left the vehicle at the scene of the incident and were seen heading in the Fairwater area.

"We believe both are white, have dark hair and one was wearing a blue-padded jacket. One was aged between 20 and 30."

The spokesman added that the circumstances of the collision are unclear at the moment.
