The body of a woman found in a flat in Hull has been confirmed as that of a missing 21-year-old mother.
Tina Wright was last seen leaving the Endyke pub in Endyke Lane, Hull, with a man at about 2300 GMT on Sunday.
Her body was discovered by officers who forced their way into a property in Highcourt on the city's Orchard Park Estate on Tuesday.
Detectives started a murder inquiry after a post-mortem examination revealed Ms Wright suffered a violent attack which was described as "brutal and sustained".
Humberside Police said scenes of crime officers were gathering forensic evidence at the flat.

A spokesman added: "The body has now been formally identified as that of Tina Louise White. She was identified by her brother."
Ms Wright had been due to collect her three-year-old daughter from her ex-partner's house on Monday evening, but failed to turn up.
Detective Superintendent Paul Davison, who is leading the inquiry, said the pathologist described the attack as one of the worst he had ever seen.
"She suffered a brutal, horrific and sustained attack," he said.
"A witness has told police that Tina was with her boyfriend in the Endyke public house on Sunday night and left about 11pm. They then had a meal at the Chinese Garden, also on Endyke Lane.
Mr Davison said CCTV cameras are believed to have captured Ms Wright at the Highcourt flats as she entered with a man at 2340 GMT.
Boyfriend hunt
Her body was found in a flat on the 15th floor, which is thought to belong to her boyfriend.
He added: "I am keeping an open mind but we do need to speak to Tina's boyfriend as he
was possibly the last person to see her on Sunday night.
"Detectives are currently looking for him."
In a statement released by Humberside Police, Ms Wright's family said they were totally devastated by her death.
"We are all going to have to come to terms with this horrific crime.
"We all have to remain strong and united for each other but stronger still for her little daughter."
