Police investigating the murder of a man found with gunshot wounds near a Nottingham canal have arrested two men.
Simon Luffman, 39, of Cromford Road, Langley Mill in Derbyshire, died of gunshot wounds to the head.
His body was found by the canal in Bramcote on Sunday.
The two men arrested on Thursday morning are both from Nottingham and are due to be questioned by police later.
The murder victim, who was unemployed, was due to appear before Derby Crown Court to face a single charge of possessing a controlled class B drug.
A police inquiry was launched earlier this week after a post-mortem examination at Leicester Royal Infirmary confirmed Mr Luffman died of a gunshot wound to the head.
