Four men have been charged in connection with a drive-by shooting in which two men were injured.
A 36-year-old man was seriously hurt when he was shot in the arm by a man travelling in a car along Borrowdale Street, in Hetton-le-hole.
Another man also received minor injuries from the single bullet, but did not require hospital treatment.
Two men were arrested in Easington Lane, one man in Washington and another in Hetton-le-Hole at 0700 BST on Wednesday.
All of them have been charged with conspiracy to murder in connection with the shooting on 19 August.
A Northumbria Police spokeswoman said the men, in their 40s and 50s and from the Washington, Easington Lane and Hetton-le-Hole areas, were due to appear in court of Friday.
