A street robber forgot to put on his mask before holding a student at gunpoint and stealing his cash card, police have said.
The man only remembered to put on his balaclava after he targeted the 22-year-old in Greater Manchester.
His accomplice, who held the gun to the victim's head, was however, wearing a mask, during the incident in Fallowfield last Thursday.
Greater Manchester Police said on Monday the robbers forced the student to give them his pin number and also took his mobile phone.
The student, who was not injured, had just arrived back at his flat on Brook Road when he was confronted by the men, who proved the gun was loaded by opening its bullet chamber.
The cash card was used a short time later in a cash machine at the Asda store in Longsight.
Dc Darren Gill, from Didsbury police, said: "As one of the attackers forgot to hide his face, his victim was able to give us a detailed description and help us produce an e-fit that should help to track him down."
The unmasked robber is black, in his early to mid 20s, 5ft 10ins tall, of medium build, and has very short black hair and brown eyes.
His accomplice was also a black man, in his late teens, 5ft 8ins tall, slim build with dark eyes.
He was wearing a black balaclava and both men wore dark fleecy tops and black shell suit trousers.
