Man killed in road accident
The area around the accident has been cordoned off
A man has died in a road accident in County Tyrone.

It happened on the Bond's Glen Road near Claudy, County Londonderry, shortly before 1100 BST on Monday.

It is understood that William John Duncan, 42, of Victoria Road, Bready, County Tyrone, was fixing the brakes of a lorry when it was struck by a van and collapsed on him.

Emergency services attended the scene and the road was closed to traffic at the junction with the Ardground Road.

A second road accident has happened on the outskirts of Londonderry.

It happened at about 1300 BST at Clooney Road.

The latest death brings the total number of people killed on Northern Ireland's roads to 129 this year.

This compares to a figure of 112 deaths for the same period in 2003.
