The authorities in Nepal say they have started questioning a former finance minister over corruption allegations.
The former minister, Rabindra Nath Sharma, was detained on Tuesday after a state anti-corruption panel accused him of amassing wealth, including through illegitimate means.
Mr Sharma is a senior member of the Nepali right-wing Rastriya Prajatantra Party.
A former Home Affairs minister, Govinda Raj Joshi, was detained last week on similar charges. Both have denied the allegations.
