A man is expected to appear in court accused of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily injury.
The charge relates to an incident which led to three cars coming off the A1 near Hillsborough, County Down, on Friday evening.
Three people were injured in the incident.
A woman remains seriously ill at the Lagan Valley Hospital in Lisburn.
The man is due to appear at Lisburn Magistrates Court on Monday.
