Detectives have appealed for help from the public as they investigate an incident in which a man was badly hurt.
Police said the local man was found lying in the road in Wotton Bassett during the early hours of Saturday.
He had a "severe" head injury and was taken to hospital.
He was found outside the Old Nick pub in Station Road.
