Linda Neale

The funeral of a young mother who was murdered in woods was set to take place on Monday.

Linda Neale was due to be laid to rest as Greater Manchester Police made a new appeal to catch her killer.

Linda's partially clothed body was discovered in Cliff Woods, in Higher Broughton in Salford, on 17 August this year.

Linda, 19, who was originally from Liverpool, was last seen out walking in Higher Broughton that day with her partner Marc and their two-year-old son, David.

She grew up in Childwall, Liverpool, where she was known as Linda Wellbelove and, later, as Linda Binns.

She was the only daughter in a large family, with five brothers, aged 27, 25, 24, 15 and 14.

Her mother Margaret Binns said: "Organising the funeral has made Linda's death all the more real and I hope that laying her to rest will help us come to terms with losing her.

"When Linda lived at home with me she and I were very close and her death has left me deeply shocked.

"I can't understand how anyone could want to take her from us and I will never rest until her killer is caught."

Her father Philip Wellbelove said the family has been "living in limbo for so long"

"I hope the police find the person who has cut my daughter's life short and robbed my little grandson of his lovely mum," he said.

The service takes place at 1200 BST at St Stephen's Church on Belle Vale Road in Belle Vale, Liverpool.

When she was last seen, at about 1920 BST on 17 August, Linda was wearing a dark blue Umbro T-shirt, dark blue fleece, blue jeans, white trainers and pushing her son in a buggy.

She was white, 5ft 8ins tall, with long blonde hair, which would have been worn in a ponytail.

A post mortem examination revealed she had suffered a series of head and neck injuries.
