Kent police are hunting a man after a shop worker was struck by a car in Gravesend.

They have released a CCTV picture of a suspect they believe could be responsible for the offence at the Tollgate Service Station in Watling Street on Friday.

It happened at about 1910 BST when the shop assistant approached a man in the shop after he had been acting suspiciously.

The man ran out to his car, where the woman was struck by an open car door as the offender attempted to drive off.

He then reversed, driving over her foot, and dragging her a short distance.

A member of the public stood in front of the car, stopping it from going over the woman a second time.

The man then drove off on to Wrotham Road.

The CCTV image is of a man seen in the shop prior to the incident.

Anyone recognising him is asked to contact North Kent Police or call Crimestoppers.
