Stabbings in family feud
Four people are in police custody after a street fight between members of two families.

The disturbance broke out in St Mark's Road in Easton, Bristol on Saturday afternoon.

One man received a serious stab wound to his hand and was undergoing an operation in hospital on Sunday.

Another man was stabbed in the hip and taken to hospital for treatment.

A third man was hit over the head with a hammer and also treated in hospital.

The incident started outside the Sweet Mart mini supermarket and ended up about 200 yards away.

Two streets were cordoned off on Saturday evening while police investigated the disturbance which involved about 10 people.

Police said several people were assaulted and appealed for anyone who witnessed the fighting or who can help with information to contact them.

Six people were arrested. Four were still in police custody on Sunday and two were released on police bail.

Inspector Adrian Goldie said: "Detectives have interviewed a number of people.

"However, we still need the community itself to put a stop to this type of violence."
