Hi-fi stolen from lorry
A large quantity of hi-fi equipment has been stolen from a lorry in Leicestershire.

The truck was parked in a lay-by on the northbound A42 close to Ashby-de-la-Zouch when the incident took place.

The incident occurred sometime between 2000 BST on Monday and 0300 BST on Tuesday.

Officers have confirmed that a large number of high-value items were stolen, although they have not released a precise figure.

Police appeal

Among the items stolen were large quantities of Wharfedale mini hi-fis and Wharfedale portable and personal CD players.

PC Neale Williams, from Ashby local policing unit, said: "This is a high-value theft in which a large number of items were stolen.

"I would like to hear from anyone who was driving along the A42, near to Ashby, and who may have seen anything suspicious.

"I would also urge people to come forward if they have been offered similar items for sale in unusual circumstances."
