County good for single women

A new survey claims Rutland is one of the best places in the country for women looking for a date.

Single men in the county outnumber single women by nearly half.

The survey for an internet website, used census data as well as interviewing nearly 2,500 people.

It found rural areas are the best when it comes to women looking for love.

Rural divide

Single men outnumber single women by 45% in Rutland - making it the third best area in the country for potential Bridget Joneses.

Only Bridgnorth in Shropshire and Richmond in North Yorkshire were higher.

Men looking for women are advised to get out of the countryside and into the city.

Of the 10 areas where single men are most common, seven were in London and the other three in and around Liverpool.
