Boy in court over water pistol

A 10-year-old boy has been ordered to appear in court for allegedly squirting a water pistol at a woman.

It is claimed the boy squirted the toy at a passer-by in Westbury, Sherborne, Dorset, on 13 April this year.

Dorset Police confirmed they had investigated an allegation of assault with a water pistol but said it would be "inappropriate" for them to comment further.

The boy, who is at the youngest age that a person can be prosecuted, is due to appear at Weymouth Youth Court on Friday.
