Seasonal rainfall well down
Water treatment works
Rainfall for the year has been 6% below the climatic mean
Rainfall was well below the seasonal average in Guernsey in September.

Figures released by the Water Board show it was down 65%.

Rainfall for the last year has been 6% below the climatic mean, with stream flows having reduced considerably.

The volume of water in demand for the month was 16% higher than it has been for the last decade.

The Board considers it an achievement that the reservoirs were more than two thirds full at the end of the summer.

But the island is now reliant upon significant rainfall to replenish reservoirs before next summer.
