Seven people have been shot dead and a dozen others injured in a shootout at a wedding in Indian-administered Kashmir.
A group of people, including three policemen, fired on guests at a wedding party in what is said to be a family feud.
A senior police officer said one of the policemen who attacked the group had apparently wanted to marry the bride.
"This is not in any way a militancy-related incident," Gopal Sharma, director general of Kashmir police, said.
The bride and groom survived the attack but seven of the girl's relatives died in the attack which took place in the mountainous Doda district of the state.
Doda is the scene of some of the worst separatist violence in the state which is disputed between India and Pakistan.
