Club closed after chemical leak
A health club in Leamington Spa has been closed following a chemical leak.

Up to 70 firefighters - some wearing decontamination suits - were called to Dragons Health Club, in Bedford Street, at about 1900 BST on Friday.

It is thought the leak involved chemicals used in the swimming pool.

Two people were taken to hospital complaining of burning to the back of the throat, but were discharged later in the evening.

A Warwickshire Fire Service spokesman said the club remained closed on Saturday and environmental health officers were due to inspect the premises.

The spokesman said it appeared that two chemicals had been mixed together creating a chlorine gas.
