Police have named a man found dead in a Leicester street.

The body of Eamon Andrew Bloodworth, 46, a father of three from Birstall, was discovered at the junction of Ravensbridge Drive and Blackbird Road in Leicester.

He had visited several pubs and clubs with friends the night before and was last seen at 0200 BST on Saturday when he left the Stilettos club in Belgrave Gate.

Officers say they are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen Mr Bloodworth, who is described as white, 5 ft 8 in tall, with brown or ginger hair and a full beard.

He was wearing a blue and cream checked shirt and blue jeans.

Detective Chief Superintendent Alistair Helm said: "One of the lines of enquiry is to try to establish the route Mr Bloodworth took after he left the club.

"He was a man of quite distinctive appearance so we hope someone will remember seeing him and give us a call."

"Mr Bloodworth died as a result of head injuries and we cannot rule out the possibility that he was a victim of robbery as he had little property on him when he was found."

Detectives are also studying CCTV pictures for any clues as to what happened to him.
