A man has been arrested in connection with the murders of five members of the Chohan family, a spokesman for Scotland Yard said.
The 54-year-old was arrested by officers from the Specialist Crime Directorate at 2030 BST and taken to a central London police station for questioning.
Businessman Amarjit Chohan, 46, went missing from his home in Heston, west London, with his wife Nancy, 25, her sons Devinder and Ravinder, and her mother Charanjit Kaur, 51, on 16 February.
A police investigation was launched after the alarm was raised by relatives.
Mr Chohan's body was found floating in the sea close to Bournemouth Pier in Dorset on 22 April.
Mrs Chohan's body was found in Poole Bay, Dorset, on 15 July.
A police spokesman said on Tuesday confirmed the arrest.
"He has been taken to a central London Police station pending further
inquiries," a spokesman said.
