Police in the Pakistani city of Karachi say seven people were killed and at least five others wounded on Tuesday in two related incidents.
Six of the dead belonged to the Muttehada Qaumi Movement (MQM).
Two people were killed early on Tuesday by unknown assailants in the Liaquatabad area of the city.
Five others were killed after unidentified gunmen opened fire on the funeral of the first two victims, the police say.
The MQM mainly represents Muslims who migrated from India to Pakistan when the country was partitioned in 1947.
