A jeweller fought off a man armed with a knife who tried to rob his shop.
The robber, who had the knife up his sleeve, threatened the jeweller that he would cut him unless he co-operated, Kent Police said.
But the jeweller, working in a shop in Birchington in Kent, grappled with the man rather than hand over any money or goods.
The offender left empty-handed when the owner of another shop came into the jewellers' store to help.
Kent Police said the incident happened shortly after 1700 BST on Friday at J and M Jewellers in Station Road, Birchington.
No description of the robber was released by police on Friday evening.
