Murder charge pair in court

Mr Kanabar was shot on his way home

Two people have appeared in court accused of murdering a 60-year-old man.

Richard Harris Watson, 34, of no fixed address, and Rebecca Shakespeare, 24, of Bardsey Gardens, Nottingham, are both charged with killing Amratlal Kanabar.

Both also face a charge of jointly conspiring to rob persons unknown.

They appeared before Leicester Magistrates' Court in separate hearings on Saturday morning.

Both remanded in custody to appear before Leicester Crown Court on 27 October.

Members of the Kanabar family watched proceedings form the court's public gallery with members of the police inquiry team.

Mr Kanabar was shot dead as he returned to Leicester from a night out with friends at the Gala casino in Nottingham on 8 October.
