Hit-and-run driver injures girl
A nine-year-old girl riding her bike was seriously injured when she was hit by a driver who then failed to stop.

The girl was cycling with a friend when she was hit by a green Vauxhall Cavalier along Fieldside, in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.

She was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford suffering from injuries to her face.

A hunt is now under way to try to trace the driver, who may not be aware that he hit the girl.

Thames Valley Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the incident, on Thursday, 9 October at about 1540 BST, to contact them.
