Man missing after works party
Vincent Derrick
Vincent Derrick said he had argued over a taxi fare
Police say they are very concerned for the safety of a man who disappeared after a works night out in Manchester city centre.

Vincent Derrick - who is known as Vinny - has not been seen since he had an argument with a taxi driver on Friday night.

The 28-year-old from Partington, Greater Manchester, spent the evening with his work mates from Walker Freight, ending up at the Jabez Clegg pub.

He agreed to share a taxi home with his boss and stay at her house in Heald Green.

She left alone at 0030 BST on Saturday and he phoned an hour later to say he was on his way in a taxi.

'Out of character'

Then he called again to say he had got out of the taxi after a row over the fare.

He never arrived and has not contacted his friends or family since.

They say it is completely out of character and are extremely concerned.

Police are searching the area around the A34 near the John Lewis store, in Handforth Green, Cheshire.

They have appealed for him or anyone who knows of his whereabouts to get in touch.
