A 34-year-old woman has been charged with dangerous driving after a police officer was dragged along by a car.

It happened at 1600 BST on Friday outside the Asda store at the Beehive Centre in Cambridge.

The off-duty policeman was allegedly dragged along by a silver Renault car when he tried to stop and question three suspected shoplifters.

He suffered minor injuries in the incident.
