David Milner faces nine charges

A 46-year-old divorcee who went missing with a schoolgirl has been charged in connection with her disappearance.

David Milner, of Victoria Street, Gillingham, Kent, has been charged with nine offences including abduction in relation to the disappearance of a 14-year-old.

Mr Milner is due to appear before Medway Magistrates Court on Wednesday and has been remanded in custody until then.

He has been questioned at Chatham police station in Kent, after being brought back under police escort from Berriedale in the Scottish Highlands on Monday.
