Man killed in bus collision
A man has died in north London after his car collided with a double-decker bus.

The number 73 bus was travelling along the High Road in Tottenham at 0650 BST on Monday when the accident happened on the corner of Craven Park Road, outside an Esso garage.

A police spokesman said the driver of the car, who has not yet been identified, was trapped inside his vehicle and declared dead at the scene.

"Police were called at 6.50am," he said. "On arrival a man was found trapped in his car.

Investigation under way

"The fire brigade and ambulance attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene."

A bus conductor and a passenger received minor injuries and were taken to North Middlesex Hospital.

The spokesman said it is believed there were four passengers on the bus at the time of the accident.

Roads surrounding the area were closed and a police investigation is under way.

Route 73 travels from Victoria to Stoke Newington and is operated by Arriva London North, a spokeswoman for Transport for London said.
