Ecstasy link to teenager's death
Garry Henderson
Garry Henderson was found collapsed outside a nightclub
A teenager found dead outside a Wearside nightclub had taken ecstasy, police have said.

Garry Henderson, 18, from Cruddas Park, in Newcastle, was taken ill outside the New Monkey Club in Sunderland just before 0600 BST on 27 July.

He was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital by ambulance, but was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

A spokesman for Northumbria Police said toxicology tests found traces of the drug in his bloodstream.

An exact cause of death has yet to be determined.

In July Mr Henderson's family released a statement through police saying they were "devastated" by his death.
