Renewed appeal over dead woman
Detectives in Hertfordshire are renewing their appeal for help after the death of a German woman in St Albans.

The woman's body was found in Orient Close at the junction with London Road at 1430 BST on Thursday.

A post-mortem examination found she had died from stab wounds.

The woman's body has not yet been formally identified, but police believe she is German, aged in her mid 40's with collar-length dark hair.

It is understood the woman had arrived in the UK at Heathrow Airport on 23 August from Hamburg and was looking for work in St Albans.

Police want to know how the woman got to St Albans from Heathrow and how she ended up in Orient Close.

Detective Chief Inspector Adrian Tapp said: "The circumstances behind this woman's death are still being investigated, however it is quite possible that she was murdered.

"We are appealing for the public's assistance to trace her steps and establish what caused the tragic death of this woman."
