Four charged with divorcee's murder

Divorcee Mr Newman was a father-of-three
Three men and a woman have been charged with the murder of a 50-year-old divorcee whose body was found in a garden on Good Friday.

Father-of-three Alec Newman was discovered in the rear garden of an address in Cranbury Avenue, Southampton, Hampshire, on 18 April in the early hours.

The four charged with murder are Cheryl Roberta Sandie Heys, 39, of Bourne Road, Shirley, Southampton; Thomas Davies, 34, of Cranbury Avenue, Southampton; Stephen Sidney Rowland Newton, 50, also of Cranbury Avenue; and Robert Craig, 53, of Denzil Avenue, Southampton.

They were due to appear before Southampton Magistrates Court on Friday.

Mr Newman had been living with a friend in St Matthews Close.
