Police name sea death man
Walney Island
The man was found in the sea on Saturday afternoon
A man found dead face down in the sea off Walney Island, near Barrow, on Saturday has been named.

Police say the man recovered from the water by emergency services at Earnse Point is Simon Christopher Jukes from Nottinghamshire.

The 24-year-old man was understood to be staying with relatives in the area.

Police and ambulance crews were called to Earnse Point at 1520 BST where they found the man's body face down in the water.

Paramedics tried to revive him, but he was already dead.

Police say the sudden death is not being treated as suspicious, but do not what the cause was.

An inquest is expected to open on Monday.
