A Guernsey angler has had a lucky escape from drowning.
The 44-year-old man had been night fishing around the Castle Emplacement.
He was leaving at 2330 BST, when he accidentally cycled the wrong way. He then toppled off the pier.
The man fell 30 feet (9 metres), suffering a deep gash to his head.
Despite the fall, he had no severe injuries.
