Appeal for crash witnesses
Derbyshire Police have issued a fresh call for information about the death of one of its officers.

John Needham, 38, was an officer seconded to the National Crime Squad.

He was cycling along a busy road in Derbyshire when the accident happened a week ago.

The keen cyclist, who had been with the police for nearly 17 years, was undertaking a cycling time trial when he was struck by an articulated lorry.

Anyone who was travelling on the A50 between Uttoxeter and Doveridge on Sunday, 3 August, about 0900 BST is being asked to contact Derbyshire Police.
