Thieves take unique jewels
Jewellery taken in the burglary
The jewellery cannot be replaced
Tens of thousands of pounds worth of unique handmade jewellery were stolen in a break-in at an elderly couple's home.

The hand-made items, worth over £60,000, were taken from an address in Bucknall, Stoke-on-Trent, late on Tuesday or in the early hours of Wednesday.

They include gold rings, bracelets and pendants - many encrusted with diamonds and other gems.

Detective Constable Pat Molloy said the couple were devastated at their loss.

"The elderly victims are very distressed by the break-in and we are keen to trace the offender and the property.

"A substantial reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

"We are urging jewellers and dealers to contact the police if items like those described are offered for sale."
