Blockade at accident black spot
The scene of the crash on the A520 near Leek
Two teenagers were killed in one of the crashes
People living in a Staffordshire village blocked a main road after three people died on it in two crashes last week.

Residents of Wetley Rocks fear there will be more accidents on the A520 Leek Road if traffic calming measures are not introduced.

Two 17-year-olds were killed in a crash there on Wednesday evening and a man, 37, died after losing control of his motorbike late on Thursday.

About 200 people blocked the road for 20 minutes from 0830 BST on Monday with the assistance of police.

Some of those gathered were holding banners calling for drivers to slow down before more people are killed.

Rebecca Jenkins, who lives in Wetley Rocks, told BBC Radio Stoke she felt she had to get involved: "I just thought I should go and sit in the road.

"Words are cheap, so I thought I'd got to do something."

The villagers had moved to they side of the road by 0900 BST and some said they intend to stay there for most of the day.
