Fishermen rescued after collision

The accident happened in thick fog
The crew of a fishing boat have been rescued by the coastguard after a collision with a 72,000 tonne tanker.

The Grimsby-registered Gitte Lize sent out a mayday message at 0845 BST on Sunday after the accident off Spurn Point, in the North Sea.

A lifeboat and helicopter were sent to the scene.

There are no reports of injuries among the three crew members of the fishing vessel.

The boat lost its mast in the collision which happened in thick fog.

The Norwegian tanker anchored in the Humber following the accident.
